Nottingham Forest: Sada Thioub would add pace and power needed at the City Ground

Nottingham Forest need more direct players in the mould of a certain Joe Lolley. Indeed, they get the City Ground on their feet and break down resilient defences quickly, two things that have been sorely missing this season. With that in mind, Sada Thioub would be exactly what they’re looking for.

The Senegalese international plays for Nimes Olympique in Ligue 1, and he’s played 36 times this season, scoring three and assisting five. Le 10 Sport, via Nottinghamshire Live, believe Forest have him in their sights and they’re serious about an approach in summer.

His below-par contribution stats don’t tell the whole story. He’s been one of the most successful wingers in the top French division for breaking lines and creating space for his teammates. Forest have lacked new ideas this season, so he could bring a few himself.

He’d get the City Ground on their feet with his pace and would be deadly with Joe Lolley in the starting 11 too. They’d be too much for defences to think about and could lead their promotion push if Thioub continues his form into the Championship.

He can also play on the opposite wing or as a striker, so there are options to move him around if he’s not having the desired impact down the right. Transfermarkt rate him at £4.95m, and that’s around the price range Forest need to be looking.

They need to be more direct next season, so that means bringing in at least one more winger. Thioub’s form has proved he’d be perfect for that role, so Forest have to make an approach before someone else snatches him up.
