Nottingham Forest remain in contention for the play-off places but will have to work very hard if they want to get there.
Martin O’Neill had a tricky start back at the City Ground but now seems to be getting in the swing of things as Forest are unbeaten in their last four games.
That is a record that needs to continue should Forest see themselves in the play-off places at the end of this season.
Nottingham Forest do have a very capable set of players already but seeing as it doesn’t look to be enough to get them up this season, they need to again spend wisely in the summer.
All areas on the pitch could be improved and Martin O’Neill could start with the capture of Mallorca centre-back Antonio Raillo.
Raillo, (who is valued at £450k on Transfermarkt) is someone Nottingham Forest were linked with during the January transfer window, something the player himself described as a “really good opportunity”.
Although the deal obviously didn’t materialise, it seems that the Spanish centre-back was interested in the move, which could lead to the transfer being rekindled in the summer.
Antonio Raillo currently plays in La Liga 2 with Mallorca and is an integral part of everything good they do defensively.
Of the 22 matches he has been involved in, nine of those games have resulted in his side keeping a clean-sheet, which is a strong defensive record that helps prove why he would be such a good signing for Nottingham Forest.
At the age of 27, Raillo is now fully experienced within the game and could make a real difference to a team like Nottingham Forest, if they remain interested.
