Nottingham Forest have hit a real stumbling block and their play-off dreams seem to be evading them with every game that passes.
Of course it isn’t all doom and gloom because the Championship is known for it’s unpredictably and it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see Forest suddenly pick up three wins on the bounce – that’s just football.
However, Martin O’Neill is probably not best pleased with the start he has made to life as Nottingham Forest manager but given time to rebuild in the summer, their top-flight dreams could come to fruition.
He is a man that knows the club well and his and the fans hopes will be solely on getting back into the Premier League, something only possible with the right additions made.
Goals and big defenders are obviously the most important thing and the first issue could be solved by loaning Bournemouth’s Lys Mousset, who could prove a lot with a loan spell.
Mousset, (who is valued at £3.1 million on Transfermarkt) would pose yet another great option up-front for Nottingham Forest, seeing as a number of their current hitmen may no longer be with the club in the summer.
The 23-year-old is well regarded at Bournemouth and it shows, seeing as he’s made 20 appearances this season.
However, when delving into those games, you can see that Mousset is yet to start a single game in the Premier League, not good enough for a player who could offer a lot more to another team.
Lys Mousset has great pace, an eye for goal and his team-mates and better still has the motivation to prove the doubters wrong, with regular game-time at Nottingham Forest helping him do just that.
