Nottingham Forest are yet to really get going under Martin O’Neill as they’ve lost their first two games under his guidance, so plenty of improvements are required.
The Midlands club will need to enjoy a winning streak if they are to stand any chance of securing a play-off spot in the current campaign, as their recent form has seen them drop down the table.
However, Nottingham Forest will welcome Wigan Athletic to the City Ground later on today in their next Championship fixture. The Latics have struggled to ensure consistency this season and they’re only six points off the relegation places, so Forest should be able to come out on top.
With that in mind, the City Ground will roar if O’Neil unleashes these TWO stars today…
Yohan Benalouane impressed during his first game at the club last time out against Bristol City, after joining on loan from Premier League side Leicester City. The central defender produced a very promising performance on his debut, as he managed to keep the dangerous Famara Diedhiou quiet for the majority of the game.
Therefore, Forest will need him to put in another dominant display against the Latics later on today, as the likes of Joe Garner and Josh Windass pose a great threat in the final third.
Joe Lolley has been the standout performer for Nottingham Forest in the current campaign, with seven goals and eight assists to his name at this moment in time.
However, he hasn’t exactly been at his best in recent times, which could be down to Martin O’Neill’s decision to play him out on the right-hand side of midfield.
The attacker could hit top form later on today if the Forest boss decides to switch him back over to the left-hand side, as he was dominant during the first half of the season in his familiar position, constantly scoring or providing.
