QPR: Fans fuming with referee who gave Jordan Hugill fifth yellow card of the season

Queens Park Rangers were left frustrated in more ways than one following their 2-2 draw against Reading on Tuesday (via BBC Sport).

Can Mark Warburton take QPR to the Premier League?

Not only did they fail to win the game despite taking the lead twice, but one of their goalscorers – Jordan Hugill – was booked by referee Jeremy Simpson.

That means that the West Ham United loanee has now picked up five yellow cards this season (WhoScored), so he will be unavailable for selection when the R’s take on local rivals Brentford on Monday.

The decision came after Hugill and Reading defender Matt Miazga had a coming together, but plenty of QPR fans believe that the decision was extremely harsh.

Hugill has been a key player for the West London side this season. He has struck up an excellent partnership with Nahki Wells at the top of the pitch and has already scored seven goals including two in his last three appearances (via WhoScored).

Losing him for a game against their rivals is therefore a huge blow for Mark Warburton’s side and does weaken them slightly.

As mentioned, several fans were left bemused as to why exactly the striker was given a yellow card. Here is how some reacted on Twitter…
