QPR: Fans full of praise for Toni Leistner after solid display

Queens Park Rangers’ Toni Leistner received a huge amount of praise from fans on Twitter following his display in helping the club sweep aside a strong Preston North End on Saturday afternoon.

With Mark Warburton’s side having failed to pick up a single win in their previous eight matches, the prospect of playing one of the Championship’s most outstanding teams this season could have been daunting.

However, Eberechi Eze managed to put the visitors to the sword when he recorded a brace with a goal in both halves and turning things around for the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium outfit (BBC).

Whilst the youngster would likely be recognised for his match-winning performance, many of the fans had not let Leistner’s performance go under the radar, with many taking to Twitter to commend the German for his own individual efforts.

Indeed, according to the figures compiled by WhoScored, the 29-year-old was as defensive as a rock as he managed to achieve three total tackles, two interceptions, two blocked shots and a mammoth seven clearances to keep Preston North End at bay and help give QPR a much-needed clean sheet.

Having taken to Twitter to share a message after the game, supporters jumped on it to laud his performance, with many sharing their instant thoughts.

Here are some of their reactions to Leistner’s display…
