Queens Park Rangers fans will be angry with the way they saw their side fall to a 2-1 defeat to Hull City on Sunday afternoon, however many on Twitter appear to have been left fuming with one of Mark Warburton’s substitution decisions.
Indeed, the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium outfit took an early advantage when Ilias Chair netted inside the opening 20 minutes, but they were quickly pegged back.
George Honeyman levelled the tie before half-time before Jackson Irvine secured the visitors all three points just minutes before the final whistle was blown.
QPR have not had the best of fortunes over the Christmas period in regards to results – having dropped two points against Charlton Athletic in the dying moments and following it up with a below-par display against Reading on Boxing Day – and it appears the decision to take off Chair may have added even more weight to Warburton’s shoulders.
Fans were left fuming with the 80th-minute change and many took to Twitter to let their feelings be known, with many taking aim at the manager and going as far as to suggest that he did not know what he was doing.
Here are just some of their reactions…
That interviewer is a club puppet. He mentions about how well Ilias Chair played yet never asked the question most QPR fans wanted answered ‘why did you take him off’. The team were booed off at the end of the game….never mentioned

Taking off chair scandalous decision, and every time he takes off Amos we looks so open and concede. Awful in game management time and time again

I’ve just watched my team dominate and still loose, we can’t score can’t defend, we’re not allowed to shoot outside the box? Then we take chair off who was terrorising their right back and put Hugill up to with Wells? Who’s providing?
Wakey wakey Mr Warburton

Substitutions baffling as well. Chair main threat – hooked???? Amos playing well – hooked????

Subs all wrong today. Chair was the best player on the pitch. Amos was good too. No idea what Smith offers. Out managed during the game. Still. Cant gift teams goals. Again #QPR

Can’t finish & can’t defend set pieces. Abysmal last 20 minutes, we lost our way faded badly, can someone explain those 2 substitutions to me please? Amos was playing well and Chair was our best player! #QPR https://t.co/dho3izIBeC

Simple math, really:
Remove your MOTM early (Chair)
+ A shaky back end, at best
= a painful defeat to a weak

No plain B. No defence. Not sure I see the hype around Eze. Taking Chair and Amos lost us that. Poor 2nd half, with alot of worries going in 2020.

Embarrassing result. They’ve had two chances and scored both. Why take Amos and Chair, two of our best players, off? Time to send both these Prem strikers back and find some new ones. Silly money being spent on two blokes who can’t hit a barn door. Pathetic. #QPR
