There were mixed emotions in the Sheffield Wednesday booth in the Transfer Tavern this morning after it emerged that Carlos Carvalhal had departed.
The club broke the news that Carlos Carvalhal would leave his role as manager of Sheffield Wednesday by mutual consent after a disappointing season so far for the Owls.
And while most fans would agree that the correct decision had been made, they were also disappointed that things had ended sourly because Carlos Carvalhal had given fans hope of promotion since taking over.
He twice led the Owls to the play-offs but twice fell short of promotion and this season, things have become worse with the club in 15th position with three consecutive losses after defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough yesterday.
Here is a selection of the best tweets from Sheffield Wednesday fans in response to the official announcement that Carlos Carvalhal would be leaving his post at Hillsborough.

Needed to happen. But would like to thank Carlos for everything he did and the hard work he put in. Sometimes it just needs a fresh approach.
