Sheffield Wednesday: Fans delighted with Dominic Iorfa’s performance against Stoke

Sheffield Wednesday moved up to third place in the Championship table on Tuesday after securing a 1-0 victory against Stoke City at Hillsborough (via BBC Sport).

Massimo Luongo scored the winning goal for the Owls, as they continue to pick up points under new manager Garry Monk.

Wednesday weren’t at their best on the night. Indeed, Monk admitted after the game that they “can be better” than they were against the Potters (via @swfc).

However, one player who did impress was Dominic Iorfa. The former Wolves man continued to fill in at centre-back due to the continued absence, through injury, of Tom Lees (Sheffield Star), but he produced a very solid display and helped the Owls to a clean sheet.

In the game Iorfa made two successful tackles and two clearances, blocked two shots and won two aerial duels (via WhoScored).

He has now started the Owls’ last eight matches at centre-back and has helped them win four and draw two of those games, keeping three clean sheets in the process and not conceding more than once in any (via WhoScored).
