Sheffield Wednesday: Fans would be happy for ex-Blade James Beattie to join as a coach

Sheffield Wednesday could be set to appoint James Beattie as a coach, according to reporter Alan Nixon.
Who is the better coach, Garry Monk or Steve Bruce?
Monk

Bruce

When asked by an Owls fan whether there was any truth in the rumour that the former striker was set to move to Hillsborough as a coach, Nixon said: “Yes. That should get done soon.”
Beattie is currently employed by Birmingham City, where he is on Pep Clotet’s coaching staff. He initially moved to St Andrew’s to work under the now Sheffield Wednesday manager Garry Monk, and it looks as though the two could be set to reunite in South Yorkshire.
The duo have a history of working together, with Beattie having been a part of Monk’s staff at Swansea City, Leeds United and Middlesbrough as well as at the Blues (BBC Sport). It should, therefore, not be a surprise that the ex-striker is set to arrive at Hillsborough.
One point of potential controversy, however, is the fact that Beattie is a former Sheffield United player. Indeed, the 41-year-old enjoyed two spells at Bramall Lane in his playing career and even scored against Wednesday in a Steel City derby (via Sky Sports).
But it seems as though his ties to the Blades aren’t a problem for most Sheffield Wednesday fans, with several suggesting that they would still be happy for him to become a coach at Hillsborough and that it is a positive for them…
Excellent move

Understandable & clearly see with Monk body language he’s desperate for a side kick.

Can only be good for the club. Why the need to mention the blunts though?

Agreed move. He has improved forwards everywhere he has been.

Hope he can bring his quality to our misfiring strikers.

Absolutely no issue with this.
