Sheffield Wednesday fans are delighted to now see Steve Bruce in charge of their club, a boss who has the capabilities to make a real difference at Hillsborough.
Having endured a poor first-half of the season, the former Villa man has taken over the hot seat with the aim of taking the Owls back up into the Premier League.
It will prove a very hard task and not one possible to complete this season but with the opportunity to strengthen during the summer transfer window, Sheffield Wednesday could conjure up a squad ready to beat the league’s best.
A player that could make a telling difference to whether they achieve their promotion dreams next season or not is a striker like Cardiff’s Danny Ward.
Ward, (who is valued at £1.5 million on Transfermarkt) is a player whose opportunities have been very limited this season, hence why a move would be viable for all involved.
With just three starts in the Premier League, Ward has found life in the top flight hard due to simply not being played enough.
In the Championship was where he initially thrived with Rotherham, having scored 11 goals in the 2016/17 season.
So with a move back, not only does he already know the league but Sheffield Wednesday can facilitate him into the team, allowing Danny Ward to get a lot more match-time.
The Owls currently have a number of different forward options already but with some out-of-contract in the summer and others simply linked with a move away, it may be sensible to plan ahead and bring in a known goal-scorer before they are left with few options.
