Sheffield Wednesday: Fans debate Fernando Forestieri’s performances this term

Fernando Forestieri has had a complicated spell at Hillsborough and fans have been reacting to his latest display, as well as discussing his future at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Italian has spent almost five years with the Owls but has been injured for much of that, and only averaged 24 league appearances per season as a result.
Against Charlton on Wednesday he showcased his talent with two key passes and one dribble (per WhoScored), leading some fans to suggest that he was the man of the match.
That performance has led to some discussion about the midfielder’s future as his contract expires at the end of the season, and fans seem to be split on whether he deserves to be kept on.
For some he has not lived up to his ability on a consistent basis and has largely been a waste of money because of that, though others feel it would be a negative step to lose a player who has contributed 40 goals and 18 assists for the club.
Should Steven Fletcher get a new deal?
Yes

No

Here is a portion of the discussion that is taking place amongst the fanbase.
Too little too late. His end product was terrible. As usual far more interested in going for glory than picking out a team mate, Wickham looked well and truly fed up with him by the time he went off.

Standard playing for a contract performance, will take it happily until the end of the season, though. He was man of the match.

Getting better each game and definitely MOM last night. I’d happily give him a new contract.

Agreed looked more comfortable up top than out on wing! The more game time he gets the better he will hopefully be! back to how we used to see him 🤞

If its a reduced salary maybe. Very flash with little substance.

Does Forestieri deserve a new deal Wednesday fans? Or do you think his performances are only picking up because he knows his future is under doubt? Tell us your thoughts…
