Sheffield Wednesday have been a mixed bag so far this season as they’ve struggled to ensure consistency under Jos Luhukay
The Owls will need to start improving if they are to get anything out of the current campaign as they seem to have dropped off the pace recently after a promising couple of games.
Indeed, the Sheffield club have certainly had positives to take away from games this season, but a number of changes still need to be made to iron out any underlying issues.
So, the January transfer window could prove vital come the end of the season, with a couple of quality signings possibly launching them into play-off contention.
With that in mind, here’s a look at TWO January signings that would take Sheffield Wednesday to the next level…
The youngster was one of the standout performers for Chelsea during pre-season and will no doubt play a huge part in their future, but it looks like a loan move away would be suitable as he only manages to earn minutes in the Europa League for the Blues.
Sadly, the Owls have looked dangerous at times in attack but lack pace and determination at times, which is why a move for the energetic Callum Hudson-Odoi would give them an attacking edge in the final third.
The Owls have looked defensively vulnerable at times, which has contributed to a lot of the goals they’ve conceded so far this season. Indeed, Morgan Fox hasn’t always been able to ensure consistency and is often highlighted as a weak point by the opposition, so bringing in reinforcements in January could prove crucial.
Tyrone Mings is a very attack-minded full-back that likes to get himself forward and puts balls into the box, but can also ensure defensive solidity.
