Sheffield Wednesday: Fans call for Keiren Westwood to be dropped after WBA error

Sheffield Wednesday suffered late heartbreak against West Brom on Saturday, with the Baggies scoring an 88th minute winner at the Hawthorns (BBC Sport).

After going behind early on, the Owls had dragged themselves level thanks to a Steven Fletcher penalty, but West Brom netted a penalty of their own in the dying embers through Charlie Austin.

Wednesday goalkeeper Keiren Westwood gave away the spot kick and his performance has come in for criticism from several supporters.

The Republic of Ireland international is enduring a tough period at the moment and this isn’t the first error that he has made which has led to a goal.

Indeed, against Swansea City prior to the international break he was partially responsible for both goals conceded as he flapped at two corners.

Quite a few Owls fans are becoming fed up of Westwood costing the team points and are calling for him to be dropped from the team in favour of Cameron Dawson.

Here is what some have been saying about their goalkeeper on Twitter…
