Sheffield Wednesday: Fans fear the worst as Bruce attempts to extend unbeaten run

Sheffield Wednesday got to crisis club Bolton tonight in a game that a victory could see them overtake some of their rivals in the play-off race.

With many of the other teams directly above them playing teams in the top eight, and Wednesday with a 10-game unbeaten run to their name, a visit to a club in turmoil both on and off the pitch sounds like the perfect fixture.

But the Wednesday fans are not convinced, as seen by their reaction on Twitter today, with one fan, Shane, saying it “would be the most Sheffield Wednesday thing in the world” for them to lose at Bolton tonight.

Other fans were quick to pick up on that sentiment, appearing equally pessimistic.

Here are a few of the comments.

Aside from all the negative thoughts, it is a game that Wednesday simply cannot afford to lose if they are realistic about their chances of having a say in the promotion race.

Certainly, Steve Bruce has got them organised, despite a lengthening injury list, but his next challenge is to start putting chances away and turning draws into wins.

Will Wednesday be able to keep their hot streak going tonight, or will they slip up as fans say is the Wednesday way? Let us know your thoughts…
