The official Sheffield Wednesday Twitter account has posted an image of Hillsborough Stadium under a cloudless blue sky and many Owls fans are dreaming of their team’s return to action.
It has been more than six weeks since all professional English football came to a grinding halt and a decision on when the 2019/20 season will resume has yet to be made.
Sheffield Wednesday are currently 15th in the Championship table on 48 points after having a tough run in the league so far. Many fans are frustrated with the results under Garry Monk, particularly after their most recent fixture – which ended in a 5-0 loss against Brentford – marked their 15th league defeat this term.

The photo posted by the Wednesday Twitter account has perked up some Owls fans for if and when the season eventually returns. One supporter loved the image so much they have boasted that ‘Sheffield is blue’ whilst another has even said ‘God is a Wednesdayite’. You can see more of the reaction to the tweet below:
