Sheffield Wednesday fans have been raving about former player Ross Wallace on social media.
The 34-year-old played for the Owls for three years between 2015-2018, playing 124 matches in total for the club (Transfermarkt).
Wallace was at Wednesday through some positive times, particularly in his first two seasons there under Carlos Carvalhal.
Indeed, they reached the play-off final in his first campaign at Hillsborough and he actually scored in both semi-final matches against Brighton & Hove Albion – they ultimately lost to Hull City at Wembley (Transfermarkt).
He then played 41 games for them in his second year as they reached the play-off semi-finals, but they fell short again this time against Huddersfield Town (Transfermarkt).
His third season wasn’t as successful as the Owls finished in 15th place (Transfermarkt) and after that he ended up leaving to join Fleetwood Town.
In total, he scored 13 goals and provided 20 assists in his time at Sheffield Wednesday (Transfermarkt) and, if a recent post on social media is anything to go by, then he is fondly remembered by the club’s supporters.
@WednesdayRetro posted an image of Wallace on Twitter and plenty of Owls fans responded with positive comments about the Scottish winger.
Here is what some had to say…
Was a fab player. Another released too early.
