Sheffield Wednesday really made a statement at the weekend against Nottingham Forest as they battered them 4-0 at the City Ground.
The Owls put in a scintillating first half performance back in the middle of last week at Pride Park but did not make their chances count and were left to rue that as they drew 1-1.
However, they stored that anger up and let it out on the Reds as they found themselves 4-0 up by the break with home fans leaving in their droves come half-time.
Wednesday, then, were hugely impressive and the man that did the most damage – surprisingly for some – was striker Jordan Rhodes.
He scored a hat-trick as he repaid Garry Monk’s recent faith in playing him in the starting line-up and fans were certainly pleased to see glimpses of the old forward that once-upon-a-time was the most feared in the second tier.
He notched this stat, too, which hasn’t been done for 68 years:
And fans have had plenty to say about that:

Hopefully it will not take another 40+ years for a Wednesday player to get another first half hat-trick away.
