Sheffield Wednesday: Fans react to Barry Bannan message

Sheffield Wednesday: Fans react to Barry Bannan message - Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday climbed into the Championship play-off positions with a win over Brentford.

A brace from Steven Fletcher in the space of four minutes completed a comeback victory for the Owls at Hillsborough.

A run of two defeats in 11 games has helped elevate Garry Monk’s side into the top six, although there is an 11-point gap to the automatic promotion places.

A key player in his squad is Scotland international Barry Bannan; the midfielder has missed just one game since August; a 2-1 loss to Blackburn Rovers.

Bannan, 30, has frequently worn the captain’s armband for Wednesday, and is closing in on 200 appearances for the club.

They face a tough December fixture schedule, coming up against Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Bristol City, Stoke City and Cardiff.

After the comeback victory, Bannan posted a message on Twitter about his teammates.

Here’s how some of the fans reacted:

Wednesday fans, can Monk steer you to the play-offs? Let us know below!
