Sheffield Wednesday fans react to Michael Hector’s QPR performance

Sheffield Wednesday supporters have been pretty downbeat in recent times after seeing their side suffer a fifth Championship defeat of the season on Tuesday night.

Jos Luhukay’s men went into their clash with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road off the back of going down 2-1 at home to Middlesbrough in their previous league outing, and thus seeking a response when they travelled to the capital to face Steve McClaren’s Hoops. Yet the Owls went down for the fifth time in the league this term as goals from Tomer Hemed, Luke Freeman, and Nahki Wells sealed a routine 3-0 success for QPR, thus instigating Wednesday’s fall to 14th place in the Championship table.

Thus, there have been many disappointed Owls fans up and down the country in recent times, although many have taken to Twitter both during and indeed after Tuesday’s loss to rave about the efforts of defender Michael Hector against McClaren’s side.

The 26-year-old made the move to Hillsborough in the last knockings of the summer transfer window on loan from Chelsea, what with the Owls under a transfer embargo for much of the close season only for that to be lifted late on in the window.

And Hector was one man Luhukay lured to the Yorkshire club in a bid to bolster his ranks for the season ahead, and it appears as though he has pulled off something of a masterstroke as the Jamaica international has performed very well indeed for Wednesday.

And despite going down to defeat in West London on Tuesday night, the centre back was again one of the Owls’ star performers, thus prompting much praise from many Sheffield Wednesday fans on Twitter…
