Sheffield Wednesday defender Tom Lees has returned to first team training after recovering from a hamstring injury.
The Owls posted a video on their official Twitter account on Wednesday of the centre-back being put through his paces at their Middlewood Road training complex.
Lees has missed the South Yorkshire club’s last nine Championship matches (TransferMarkt) after picking up a hamstring injury in the warm up prior to their fixture against Queens Park Rangers back in August (Sheffield Star).
In his absence Dominic Iorfa has filled in at centre-back (TransferMarkt) alongside Julian Borner, and despite usually playing at right-back, the former Wolves man has impressed in his new position.
Indeed the two have helped the Owls to three clean sheets and four wins whilst playing in the heart of defence together (TransferMarkt), whilst a combination of Iorfa and Sam Hutchinson also prevented Leeds United from scoring on Saturday (BBC Sport).
It may therefore not be easy for Lees to get straight back into the team, given how well his replacement has been playing.
Some Sheffield Wednesday fans agree with that sentiment, suggesting that they shouldn’t throw Lees straight back into the starting line-up as Iorfa has played well enough to retain his place in the team. Here is what some had to say…
Don’t see how he gets back in team. Tbh! #SWFC
