Sheffield Wednesday: Fans slam Adam Reach performance after Hull defeat

Sheffield Wednesday suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium on Tuesday.

It was an extremely disappointing evening for the Owls, who were looking to build on their 4-1 victory at Middlesbrough. They never really got going, and the Tigers managed to take all three points thanks to a Tom Eaves goal.

The loss was new manager Garry Monk’s first in the Championship since taking over at Hillsborough, having previously secured two wins and a draw.

Most of the Owls players were not at the races during the game, but one man whose performance has come in for specific criticism from fans following the defeat is Adam Reach.

The winger has been one of Wednesday’s most important players in recent seasons; indeed last term he managed to score eight goals and create seven assists in 42 appearances.

However, the 26-year-old has not started the 2019/20 campaign too well, with his only goal so far coming against Middlesbrough at the weekend. To make matters worse, he missed a golden opportunity to equalise from eight yards out right at the death.

As well missing a sitter, he also had three unsuccessful touches and was dispossessed twice in the 90 minutes, while also managing to get just one of his four shots on target and finishing with a disappointing 63.6% passing accuracy (via WhoScored).

Following another disappointing performance from Reach, several Owls fans have been quick to criticise the 26-year-old. Here is what some have been saying…
