Sheffield Wednesday: Fans slate Morgan Fox for his awful showing

Morgan Fox might want to avoid using Twitter this weekend as a number of Sheffield Wednesday fans were far from happy with what they saw from the defender following their 5-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

Garry Monk’s side were embarrassed in front of a Hillsborough crowd as they seemingly collapsed against Tony Mowbray’s men, especially having recorded an impressive victory over Yorkshire rivals Leeds United just a week before.

It would have been difficult to imagine things getting worse for the Owls after Lewis Holtby opened the scoring inside the first 20 minutes, however they did when Massimo Luongo was shown a debatable red card for a challenge just moments later.

Cameron Dawson then put the ball in his own net before the Blackburn attacker recorded his second of the game on the stroke of half-time. Darragh Lenihan and Sam Gallagher just added further salt to the wound Sheffield Wednesday were trying to heal before the final whistle was blown.

Indeed, fans would have clearly been furious with what they saw from their side over the hour-and-a-half of football and it seems Fox was one such individual to have picked up the brunt of criticism from some of the faithful on Twitter.

The Welsh defender made two tackles and three interceptions in the game according to data collected by WhoScored, however many of the supporters on social media felt he did nothing, with one going on to call him a “useless waste of a shirt”, whereas others were hardly forgiving with their player ratings.

Here are just some of their reactions…
