A selection of Sheffield Wednesday supporters were left unimpressed by defender Moses Odubajo’s role in the Owls’ defeat at Hull City on Tuesday night.
Odubajo joined the Hillsborough club as a free agent from Brentford in the summer (BBC), after the Bees opted against triggering an extension clause in his contract at Griffin Park which would have seen the London-born right-back remain in Greater London for a further year.
The 26-year-old has since featured nine times for Sheffield Wednesday across all competitions (WhoScored), with his latest outing against Hull resulting in the former England under-20 international recording his best pass accuracy rating in the Championship since the curtain-raiser win over Reading.
Odubajo also attempted his third-most passes in an Owls league game against the Tigers with 27 efforts, of which 88.9% found a teammate; four were marked as long-balls and one created a key chance.
The former Hull City man is still waiting for his first league assist for Sheffield Wednesday, however, and is yet to see out a second tier encounter without conceding at least one foul.
Despite some fans’ criticism, though, Tuesday night’s appearance saw Odubajo record his most interceptions with five, joint-most tackles with four and he was not dispossessed by an opponent for the fifth time this season.
His 88.9% pass accuracy rating was also the highest achieved by any Sheffield Wednesday player against Hull, with Kadeem Harris the only other to achieve a rating above 80%.
The Leyton Orient product’s four successful tackles was the most achieved by an Owls man, as well, with Adam Reach, Dominic Iorfa and Liam Palmer all winning two attempts.
However, these fans were left unimpressed by Odubajo’s display…

Just don’t feel Odubajo is at his best for us yet

Odubajo gets caught of position for another goal, we’ve been overrun a few times in midfield this season, we need 4 box to box players.
