Sheffield Wednesday: Fans want to see Massimo Luongo more often after recent display

A number of fans were impressed with what they saw from Massimo Luongo in their win against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.
A goal from Adam Reach was enough for the Owls to overcome the Seagulls on the south coast and book their place in the next round of the FA Cup.
The win came at a good time for Garry Monk’s side as they had been struggling to pick up positive results after a solid start to their Championship season, having gone winless in their last three fixtures prior to the meeting with the Premier League outfit (Sky Sports).
Indeed, whilst Luongo did not get himself on the scoresheet, it appeared he did more than enough during the game to warrant plenty of praise from the club’s faithful on Twitter.
Many had called for Monk to play the Australia international on a more consistent basis, whilst others had felt he had provided the side with a lot more than some of his team-mates had when they were being utilised instead.
Here are just some of their immediate reactions to the midfielder’s performance…
Brilliant game today, well done, have to say luongo is a brilliant addition, he should be nailed on starter in my opinion

I said it when we first signed him and I’ll say it again luongo needs to play, hell play a big part this season if given the chance @swfc

Brighton must have had an off day #swfc
So it’s pretty clear I think. That’s our best CB pairing and Lee and Luongo should be in front of Hutchinson in the pecking order.
Oh…..and you can’t beat the confidence of youth. No baggage

Todays performance shows us 2 key things.. Hoof Lee’s doesnt play instead of Borner & Iorfa. And Kieran Lee or Luongo or both have to start in the middle of the park! They both get in the pockets between midfield and strikers which we lack in Bannan and Hutch i’m afraid #swfc

Pre warning @Yorkshireblue73
If Lee and Luongo don’t start next week against Leeds…. the lot is going up.!!! pic.twitter.com/MAj5CPBqpn

What a performance:
Special mentions to Iorfa, Luongo, Pelupessy and Reach today, thought they were the best of the bunch. Desperately need a striker now… #SWFC— SWFC Lineups (@SWFCLineups) January 4, 2020
All the back 4 outstanding. Pelupessy, Luongo, Reach very good. Deservedly through #swfc

Lee and Luongo have been a pleasure to watch today. #swfc

Notice how Luongo and Lee get around the pitch and don’t feel need to hold the CBs hands like Bannan and Hutchinson #swfc
