Sheffield Wednesday: Last season’s Preston footage prompts fan response

Sheffield Wednesday: Last season’s Preston footage prompts fan response - Sheffield Wednesday

Many Sheffield Wednesday fans have reacted to footage from last season’s game with Preston North End.

The Owls came from two goals down to rescue a point away at Deepdale, but the draw failed to see Wednesday reach the play-offs.

The scoring would open when Jayden Stockley fired in for the home side, before Tom Lees would put the ball into his own net to give Preston a 2-0 lead.

Wednesday did manage to pull a goal back as Barry Bannan slotted home a delightful effort into the top corner from just inside the box, but Preston would restore their two-goal advantage when Alan Browne finished a move involving Sean Maguire.

Tricky playmaker Fernando Forestieri would then get the visiting side back into the game as he headed in substitute Atdhe Nuhiu’s cross, and it would be the latter who levelled things up.

The draw saw Steve Bruce’s side move six points outside the play-off places with only one match remaining.

Reacting to the club’s official Twitter @swfc, fans looked back on the mouth watering game:
