Sheffield Wednesday caretaker manager Lee Bullen has claimed he will make “one or two” changes against Rotherham United, as reported by The Star.
Bullen still wants his side to bounce back following the 2-1 loss against Preston North End in a similar way to how they responded to defeat against Millwall.
The Owls have sold out their allocation for the match and Bullen is “expecting a fabulous atmosphere and game” in what will be their first played in the tournament this season.
It seems as though Bullen sees the Carabao Cup as an opportunity to switch his side around a little, with his latest comments following those made when the Bury encounter was called off due to their financial difficulties.
Bullen had mentioned that he was disappointed not to be playing the game, as he had planned to give minutes to some of the players who had been left on the fringes before it, as reported by The Star.
One position where it will be intriguing to see if a change is made will be at right-back, with either Moses Odubajo or Dominic Iorfa likely to fill the position.
He may be tempted to field Odubajo to help him get over his performance against Preston, where he gave away two penalties, as shown in Preston’s highlights video, while Iorfa has only played 46 minutes of football this campaign, as per WhoScored.
Bullen will need to ensure he gets the balance right between resting players in preparation for the Queens Park Rangers game on Saturday and putting enough out to get the win.
He has faced some challenges as the Owls’ caretaker manager and this will be another one he needs to overcome to show his credentials to take over the role full-time.
