Sheffield Wednesday take on Hull City for their first game of 2020 in the Sky Bet Championship as they look to recover from a loss to Cardiff City in the final game of 2019 at Hillsborough.
The Owls are at home for the new decade against the Tigers and look capable of making the top six come the end of the season, providing they can string together some results and form.
Indeed, no side in the play-off race is really looking that consistent and though it’s, therefore, fun to watch for the neutral, it’s pretty agonising for fans of the clubs involved as frustration grows over opportunities missed.
For Wednesday, then, their latest chance to earn three points comes against a Tigers side that beat QPR away from home last time out and that has a knack of upsetting the apple cart against sides that may be favourites.
The Owls will need to be on their mettle, then, but one man that will miss out is Liam Palmer with him still suffering with an ankle knock.
Garry Monk revealed:
Palmer remains out, then, but Monk will hope that those that are fit are able to get the Owls over the line and earn three points tomorrow afternoon.
