There is little need for a reminder of how intense the rivalry between Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United is, but Jamie Vardy has offered one.
With Leicester City’s game against Sheffield United at 0-0, the Blades were dispossessed and James Maddison played the ball through to the former Owls striker, who ran through and smashed the ball past Dean Henderson with his left foot, as shown in Sky Sports‘ highlight video.
What ensued brought pleasure to many Wednesday fans, as he stood before the supporters in red and white cupping his ears, which he tweeted about after:

The former England international had been getting plenty of negative attention from the stands due to his Wednesday links, so he will have taken plenty of pressure from giving a bit of stick back.
It turns out many Owls supporters also enjoyed seeing him do it, with many of them joining Leicester fans in replying to the 32-year-old’s tweet.
