This time four years ago, Sheffield Wednesday fans were celebrating a 2-0 win over Brighton in the 2016 Championship play-off semi-finals.
Former Owls winger Ross Wallace has given an interview with the club about his memories from that night under the lights.
Wednesday fans famously had Hillsborough bouncing after their side put themselves in good stead to face the Seagulls on their territory to secure a passage to the play-off final. The second leg of the semi-final ended in a 1-1 draw, putting the Owls through on a 3-1 aggregate.
Does Joost van Aken have a future at Wednesday?
Wallace, who played his part in the Hillsborough semi-final with a stunner of an opening goal, has given his recollection of the atmosphere that night: “Even before the game, with the build-up in the stadium, you just had that feeling you were going to be part of something special.”
These Owls fans have responded to the winger’s comments and are reliving the magical night at Hillsborough with him. One supporter has said that Wallace has ‘undoubted brilliance’ whilst another has branded him a ‘fabulous footballer’.

Despite his undoubted brilliance, I’m not sure I can forgive him for wearing odd boots
