Kadeem Harris may have been the man to score Sheffield Wednesday’s goal against Luton Town, but he wasn’t the only forward-thinking player on the team to impress.
His fellow winger Jacob Murphy also put in a very good performance for Lee Bullen’s side to help them towards a third win in four Championship matches.
Most notably, it was Murphy who took advantage of Simon Sluga’s poor attempt at rolling the ball out, by taking the ball, running with it and crossing it in towards Steven Fletcher, who headed back towards Harris for the winger to bundle home.
In total, Murphy made two key passes, as well as four completed dribbles of the five he attempted, as per WhoScored, highlighting how much of a direct threat he could be during the game.
The 24-year-old also made a fairly stellar defensive contribution for an attack-minded player, making one tackle and two clearances, as his team went on to earn a clean sheet.
Murphy’s WhoScored rating of 7.4 was only outdone by the goalscorer Harris and Julian Borner, who was indomitable in defence.
The man on loan from Newcastle United has made a brilliant start to life in Sheffield – having scored on his debut – with this performance acting as a continuation of that positive form.
