Perhaps most indicative of the recent rise of the mid-table teams in the Premier League is Stoke City. Well, other than Leicester of course.
However, after previously being looked upon as perhaps an unfashionable outfit, the Potters have suddenly become a cosmopolitan team under Mark Hughes and boast a number of stylish names in the side.
Still, one name that doesn’t look like joining is that of the Napoli forward, Manolo Gabbiadini.
The Italian was, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the subject of a club record €25m (roughy £19m) bid from the side. Unfortunately for Sparky, it was snubbed by the Ciucciarell.
The 25-year old has acted as a backup for the more illustrious Gonzalo Higuain in Southern Italy, though still managed to finish the Serie A campaign with a respectable 9 goals.
Capped at international level by the Azzurri, the 24-year old has previously been linked with the likes of Swansea City.
Should a striker be Stoke’s priority this summer?
