As quoted by The Mirror, Stoke manager Mark Hughes has confirmed he would like to sign Bruno Martins Indi on a permanent deal with our Potters in the Transfer Tavern hoping a deal can be struck.
The full back has been in fine form this season for the men from the Bet365 Stadium after joining on loan from FC Porto and now it appears he could be about to make his stay more long term.
The club lost at Arsenal at the weekend 3-1 and ahead of January the Welsh manager confirmed getting the defender in permanently is certainly on his to-do list. Hughes said:
“He has done great and he has done really well, we’re really pleased with what he is producing.
“If we can [do something in January], yes [we will].
“He is a great guy around the place. He is old beyond his years. He is only 24 years of age but has an old head on his shoulders.”
Stoke are currently eleventh in the Premier League table this season on 19 points but are just two away from seventh placed Watford as is the competitive nature of this year’s Premier League.
They’ll feel, then, that qualifying for Europe is certainly a possibility this year and should look to strengthen in the January window.
Martins Indi, then, could just be the first of the permanent deals during the window and our landlord thinks it could be an exciting time for our Stoke fans here in the bar.
