Lethal striker reveals Stoke interest ahead of potential move

As quoted by sports.ru in Russia, Fedor Smolov has revealed that Stoke City are interested in signing him with our Potters fans here in the Transfer Tavern hoping they can get a deal done.

Indeed, Smolov has been in good form this year with 14 goals in 17 games for his current club Krasnodar with two in three Europa League group stage appearances as part of that.

Clearly a man in form, then, and it appears that that has caught the attention of the Premier League club.

Smolov said of any potential interest:

“It seems there are clubs interested in Europe; in England, Stoke City, and Germany. From the latter there is even an offer to move this winter. I need to think.”

It looks as though, then, the Potters could face competition from at least one German side for his signature as Mark Hughes aims to continue his team’s resurgence this season.

After a slow start to proceedings this year the side from the Bet365 Stadium have returned to the levels they were at last season.

They face a tough fixture this weekend, though, as they travel to Arsenal in a fixture that has created plenty of dramatic story lines over the years.

Our landlord thinks it’ll be a tough game for the club but reckons if they play to their maximum, they do have a chance.
