Quoted by The Stoke Sentinel, Mark Hughes has said that on-loan goalkeeper Lee Grant could make his switch to Stoke permanent with our Potters fans in the Transfer Tavern impressed by what they’ve seen.
The ‘keeper was signed earlier this season with Jack Butland out injured and Shay Given struggling for form, the Potters started this season slowly.
Still, Grant has helped turn their fortunes around, seeing them climb out of the bottom three.
As a result, he’s emerged as one of the most popular members of Mark Hughes’ squad, despite his relatively unheralded arrival.
Indeed, Stoke have won their last two games against Hull City and Sunderland respectively and Mark Hughes has been impressed with the performances of the on-loan Derby County stopper.
“We’re a good option for him. He’s out of contract at the end of the season so that may well come into his thinking”, said ‘Sparky’.
”We’re very happy with what he’s producing at the moment and if everything aligned I’m sure there would be a desire to keep Lee at the club.
”He’s been a positive influence, but it’s very early days.”
They have turned their form around much to the delight of the Potters here by the bar and are currently 16th in the Premier League table, two points clear of the drop zone.
They face Swansea City on Monday night who are one of the sides now in that bottom three as they look to earn their first win under Bob Bradley.
