Stoke City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have high expectations of new signing Ramadan Sobhi and are hoping he can provide the key to unlock their attacking midfield problems with Bojan being deployed as a false nine for much of last season.
But the Stoke Sentinel reports today that The Potters are eyeing a move for wantaway West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino, who has been seeking an exit from the Hawthorns for over two seasons.
Reports suggest that Mark Hughes will be willing to offer one of either Peter Crouch, Joselu or Mame Biram Diouf in a part exchange deal to bring the 22-year old to the Potteries.
It is also claimed that the Baggies could be open to the idea of a swap, in a deal that could call an end to an extremely protracted saga.
Sparky reportedly values both Joselu and Diouf above the £5m bracket, with 35-year-old Crouch being the cheapest option who has one year left remaining on his contract.
The former Liverpool and Tottenham forward himself has already expressed his desire to get more game time under his belt next season and has been linked with a move to Swansea City.
Has Berahino got any hope at all of a future at West Brom? Let us know below….
