Stoke City will get their season underway against Leeds United later on today, with supporters desperate to see promotion.
Indeed, the Potters have splashed a lot of cash so far this summer in an attempt to ensure promotion straight back to the Premier League. And, it looks as if they haven’t finished dipping into the transfer market just yet, as according to Sun Sport, Stoke are finalising a £1 million deal for Jonas Knudsen.
Gary Rowett has targeted the defender in a £1 million move and is on the brink of landing the 25-year-old.
The defender has been drafted in to compete with Erik Pieters, who has attracted interest from Premier League clubs and could still yet move to the top-flight.
Interestingly, the left-back has impressed during his time in English football and can contribute in attacking areas of the field, so he will be able to offer something different down the left-hand side for the Potters this season.
So, it appears as if Gary Rowett is looking to splash even more cash this summer as Jonas Knudsen is on the brink of moving to Stoke City.
Indeed, the Potters are in a great position to earn promotion back to the Premier League with one of the strongest squads in the division. Importantly, with plenty of other strong sides in the Championship, the Potters’ squad depth will definitely come into play and will stand them in great stead.
