According to Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo Stoke City’s Marc Muniesa could be on his way to a La Liga side in January, with our resident Potters fans here in the Transfer Tavern not too bothered if he leaves.
The left-back has not been a part of Mark Hughes’ plans for some time at the Bet365 Stadium and now it appears he could be back off to his home country, with both Real Betis and Granada said to be keen to secure his signature.
Betis are currently in mid-table in La Liga and recently sacked former Sunderland manager Gus Poyet to replace him with Victor Sanchez del Almo, whilst Granada are many people’s favourites for the drop after a terrible start to the year.
Muniesa has hardly had any game time this season, with most of his appearances coming in the much-maligned Checkatrade Trophy and he has only mustered 15 minutes of Premier League action.
He has seen that happen mainly because of the loan signing of Bruno Martins-Indi from FC Porto, with the Dutch international impressing fans and the coaching staff alike.
The Potters lost last time out in the league to Bournemouth and will be looking to bounce back against Watford this weekend.
