Stoke City must keep £9m-rated flop to earn promotion right back to the Premier League

The Stoke City fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are really disappointed and upset that their 10-year stay in the Premier League has now come crashing to an end.

As many will know, there have been numerous factors behind the appalling season Stoke have had, but ill-discipline in a number of players stands out as being the biggest thorn to the sides heart. Names such as Jese, Kevin Wimmer and of course Saido Berahino stand out as being the biggest culprits but our punters feel that if the Potters are in a forgiving mood, funnily enough.

Interestingly, they believe Sadio Berahino should be given another chance in a Stoke shirt.

After facing the drop into the Championship, as negative as that is, it might just be what Berahino needs to find his shooting boots and reach the potential he always promised to show back in his younger days. The number nine was thought to be a good signing when arriving in 2017 but after 1 and a half seasons of not scoring for Stoke, the £9m-rated forward (via Transfermarkt) has been degraded to the bench or out of the first-team squad completely.

It’s clear from when he was at West Brom that Berahino has the ability to score goals and cause problems for the opposition and not just his own team. There can be no excusing his behaviour but at the age of 24-years-old, the Englishman could have so much more to give which Stoke could profit from.

Turning bad-boy attitude into goals will be a hard transition to make but our punters are in agreement that once he gets up and running for Stoke, we could see the old, hungry striker that Stoke brought in the first place.

Thoughts Stoke fans… Will Berahino be wearing a Stoke shirt again or is it too late?
