The Stoke City fans who are gathered at the bar in The Football Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports linking the club with a move for a new midfielder.
According to a report in The Guardian the Premier League side are set to make a bid of £12m for the Juventus midfielder, Mario Lemina.
The Gabon international only joined the club on a permanent deal in April for £7.5m after a loan spell with the club.
The former Marseille man was the subject of interest from Premier League champions Leicester earlier in the summer but they opted to go for Napalys Mendy instead.
Mark Hughes is in the market to strengthen his midfield options for next season and the defensive midfielder has emerged as the Welshman’s top target this summer.
The 22-year-old made seven starts for The Old Lady last season and the Italians are thought to be keen to cash in on the player this following the signing of Miralen Pjanic earlier this summer.
