Stoke City set to receive major boost

Mark Hughes has confirmed in his press conference today that goalkeeper Jack Butland could soon make his return to first team duties, much to the delight of the Potters fans here in the Transfer Tavern.

Quoted by Stoke’s official club website the former Blackburn Rovers manager said: “Jack was back out on the pitch yesterday for the first time, which was really positive for us all. We are encouraged, touch wood, and hope that the issue he had has now been addressed.”

Butland has been out all season and missed much of last year, too, with injury but now could be soon back in between the sticks for a his team that have struggled so far this season.

They got a crucial win last time out against Sunderland, though, and fans will now be hoping they can begin to move away from the trap door into the Championship.

The relief here in the Transfer Tavern has been palpable amongst the Potters fans after their poor start with one telling our landlord: “I’m over the moon he’s nearly back for us because without him we’ve looked so shaky at the back. We should be able to start climbing the table soon.”

How important could Butland’s return be Stoke fans? Let us know below!
