Stoke fans on Twitter desperate to get Nathan Jones in

Nathan Jones is a name that a lot of fans won’t be aware of. The Welshman was appointed as the Luton Town manager three years and three days ago and has worked wonders with the Bedfordshire club, winning promotion from League Two and currently taking them to 2nd in League One in their first season back there.

Following Gary Rowett’s sacking yesterday as the Stoke City manager, the Potters have been looking at a new man for the job, and whilst the usual suspects will be rearing their heads at the prospect of going to the Bet365 Stadium, hiring Jones would be a great move by Stoke City. The last four Stoke managers have been Rowett, Paul Lambert, Mark Hughes and Tony Pulis, so to move for Jones would be a breath of fresh air.
The 45-year-old Welshman has taken the Hatters to the top of European form tables this season and has had his side matching the runs of the likes of Juventus, Liverpool and Tottenham, albeit in League One. To lose their pragmatic tactician will be a huge blow to the Kenilworth Road faithful in their promotion push, but Luton’s loss will be Stoke City’s gain, and it could be the move that sees Nathan Jones become a household name in English football is he plays his cards right.

Pulis, Hughes, Lambert, Rowett. All experienced managers who played with the ball in the sky.
Nathan Jones is a different way of doing things which is exactly what Stoke need. The sense of entitlement on here is ridiculous— Stu Hall (@Stuj4z) January 9, 2019

Not sure why some fans are moaning, plenty of goals and attacking football. Give him time and you might be surprised.

A great appointment if it comes off. A fresh outlook, new ideas and an attacking philosophy. Plus he’s passionate and will fire up the players and fans alike. And he speaks Spanish

Stoke fans will be buzzing if they can appoint Jones in the next few days, and who can blame them after seeing his track record at Luton Town.
