Stoke should let this attacking star go – here’s why

Stoke City are having a pretty quiet transfer window at the moment with one headline surely dominating every other surrounding the club – Bojan being linked with a move away.

The Spaniard has been linked in recent days with a move to Middlesbrough by Gazette Live, which, on the face of it, looks like it could be a great move for the Teesiders when you consider where he’s been and what he can do.

There’s much more to it than that, though, with this season painting a picture that suggests Bojan may never be the player he once was ever again.

That, of course, appears dramatic but you cannot argue that the Spaniard has suffered a massive drop off from where he was when he first signed for Stoke to where he is now – getting splinters on the bench.

Since sustaining an injury that saw him struggling for eight months he has not been the same player and appears to have lost that creative spark.

He looks unhappy with life at the Bet365 Stadium and when he has played fleetingly this season, he’s very rarely impressed.

Bojan hasn’t looked the same player for Stoke recently

A player that was once one of Stoke’s finest players – causing many to wonder just how they managed to sign him – now looks jaded in the face of Premier League football and ultimately, not good enough to play right now.

Should he sign for Middlesbrough, Aitor Karanka might be able to help him rediscover his best form but we’ve seen before that when a player looks rocked by an injury – things rarely get back to the way they were before.

It’d be a real risk for Boro, then, and one Stoke should hope they take.
