The former Barcelona wonder-kid, who broke the record to become the youngest ever player to represent the Catalonian giants a few years back, has left to join Mainz, where he will stay until the end of the campaign.
But you get the feeling here in the pub that some Potters fans think the Spanish forward should have been given the chance to prove himself a little more at the Britannia, with a big few months ahead for the Potters.
Still, with Saido Berahino coming in from West Bromwich Albion earlier this window, he’s been deemed surplus to requirements- a decision that could come back to bite Mark Hughes.
