After news emerged recently from Wales Online that former Swansea full back Ángel Rangel was ignored by the Welsh club over the summer when negotiating his new contract, it had positive and negative connotations.
On one hand, if the Spaniard is telling the truth, it shows a level on unprofessionalism from the south Wales outfit, as that is no way to treat such a servant to the club. On the other hand, it shows the ambition of the club and new manager Graham Potter.
After Potter joined the newly relegated team in the summer, he may have not seen the 35-year-old as part of his plans, and therefore it was best to let him go for the remainder of his career. That turned out to be wise, as the right back has helped QPR a lot so far this season.
With that in mind, we asked whether you thought that Swansea still had a place for Rangel, and these were the results:
At 61%, the majority of fans believe that there was still a place for Rangel at Swansea, particularly in light of their recent injury crisis. However, 39% is also a large enough number to show that Potter may have been on to something, and although it was a shame to see a player leave after playing over 350 games for The Swans, it was best for his and the club’s future.Like what the TT have on offer?
