The Swansea fans here in the Transfer Tavern have had one of their best weeks this season and things have just got better with the announcement Wayne Routledge has signed a new deal – as per the club’s official website.
The Swans beat Liverpool last time out in the Premier League thanks to a winner from Gylfi Sigurdsson in a performance that shocked many by the bar.
The display from the Welsh club at Anfield struck a lot of our punters with the way they were willing to fight and battle for the shirt as well as the quality they possess.
It was a reminder of what the Swans can actually do and Paul Clement appears to have them all pulling in the right direction.
Routledge looks like he wants to be part of that, too, with this deal running until 2019.
The English winger has been a mainstay in the Swans’ side this season with 19 appearances to date and so this news signifies his belief that the club are heading in the right direction – despite their current position.
