One player who we have been keeping our eye on this season is Spanish forward Iago Aspas, who Sky Sports report is in a tug of war between Swansea City and Atletico Madrid.
The Celta Vigo man has been nothing short of suberb in the run up to the Spanish winter break, and has not only received accolades in his native Spain, with high flying Atletico showing interest in the player, but Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup is also sniffing around.
Whilst it is understandable that Laudrup is on the look out to recreate the success of summer signing and fellow Spaniard Michu, he has played down reports that the Celta player could join this winter.
Laudrup claimed: “He [Aspas] is a very good player, I know him, but to say he is coming here is a big step. When I look at players, I look first for quality. Second, do they fit into this environment, this squad and this city? Then there is the salary and the fee.”
Aspas has netted six times already this season in a recently promoted Celta side and will look for a move away eventually. However his agent did refute claims that he could be on the move this January, claiming the 25-year-old would wait until at least the summer.
