Leeds fans on Twitter keen to get a new centre-back in

Leeds United drew 2-2 to Swansea on Tuesday evening and a lot of fans picked up on the lack of depth in the centre of their defence as a real issue. The fans are currently having to get by as Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper are injured but they all agree the club could do with another centre-back. Meanwhile, Marcelo Bielsa has been playing down the need for a new defender via The YEP.

Bielsa has reformed the current Leeds United squad and the supporters all have complete faith in the Argentine, however, they disagree with the 63-year-old on this one as they’re more than a little bit keen to bring in a new defender to bolster them at the back. If they lose one more central defender to injury they could be in a real situation and with the squad thin as it is the Whites want to see Bielsa act in the time they have left in the window.

Leeds would be unable to sign a new defender on a permanent deal but a loan deal for a new face is still an option. Some of the fans are keen to see young Tottenham defender, Juan Foyth drop down to the club and play for the season but it’s hard to tell how realistic a deal for the young defender would be at the moment. Either way, it seems Bielsa isn’t losing sleep over his defence and the fans should be able to trust his judgement.

The fans have complete faith in Bielsa but would have more confidence if they had a new centre-back in the coming days.
