Massive bid rejected as Swansea underline intention to stay in the Premier League

Our Swansea City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are feeling upbeat at the moment but things could have been so different, as reported by Wales Online.

The Swans have got a bit of momentum going behind them as they look to get away from the drop zone – thanks to wins against Liverpool and Southampton in recent weeks.

Paul Clement looks to be the manager they had been waiting for in these early days, then, but his job could have been a great deal harder had Icelandic international Gylfi Sigurdsson left the club.

The report claims there was interest from China in the player, too, over the last window with a deal potentially worth £30 million+ being touted.

Even so, here by the bar our Swansea fans believe that their creative star is worth far more than that thanks to his ability to win games by himself and it certainly seems the club are thinking the same way.

The midfielder is easily Swansea’s best player at the moment and so, if they are to stay up, keeping him at the club for the rest of the year will surely have been a part of that.
