Nightmare October: Swansea City

Swansea City have looked rather promising under Graham Potter in recent times as they appear to be finding their feet in the Championship.

The Swans would have had their sights set on promotion straight back to the Premier League with a number of promising players at Graham Potters’ disposal, but they haven’t been able to hit the front just yet.

Indeed, it’s vital that Swansea City can ensure consistency in what could prove to be a season-defining month, with the opportunity to nail down a play-off place.

Although, with plenty of games still yet to come and a number of negative factors possibly coming into play, the Welsh club could soon find themselves slipping away.

Therefore, here’s TWO things that could force Swansea City to take a step backwards…

OLIVER MCBURNIE ENCOUNTERS ROUGH PATCH

Oliver McBurnie has been one of the shining lights for Swansea City in the current campaign, with a number of goals to his name already as they push for promotion.

Although, the youngster has struggled to find the back of the net at times and could continue to struggle in the near future, which could mean that the Swans begin to take a step backwards.

Indeed, the Welsh club’s promotion chances will be heavily dependant on how McBurnie performs.

DROP OUT OF PLAY-OFF CONTENTION

Swansea City have done well to get themselves into the position they currently find themselves in after a rather nervy start to life in the Championship under Graham Potter. Indeed, the Swans will fancy their chances of nailing down a play-off spot in the current campaign with a strong, compact team at this moment in time.

However, things could all go horribly wrong if they fail to ensure consistency for the rest of October and fail to get the best out of some of their star players, as a play-off spot will soon start slipping away.
